Enrolling a student
Enrollment for new students in Eudora Schools takes place year-round, with the majority of students new to the district enrolling at their assigned school in August. Out-of-district residents may apply for enrollment, with approval determined by the building principal. Fall enrollment dates and procedures for new and returning students are printed in the district calendar, mailed to all Eudora residents in the month of July.
Returning students who will be attending EMS or EHS will have the opportunity to select their classes at a parent meeting in the spring.

New students will be required to provide the following documentation in order to enroll.
- Residence
Verification*
In order to verify district residence, parents or guardians must provide a document showing Eudora residency. If you are moving into Eudora and your home/and or living quarters will not be ready until after the your student needs to start school, then you must apply for the “Out of District” status and fill out necessary paperwork, meet the guidelines described below, and submit the fee. - Out-of-District
Request*
This form is necessary for anyone wanting to attend the Eudora schools while residing in another district. A completed request form must be accompanied by a non-refundable application fee. As of July 1, 2006, this fee is $100 for students new to the Eudora School District. Out-of-district students who first enrolled in Eudora Schools prior to July 1, 2006 will be responsible for paying the fee in effect at the time of that enrollment. Applications made after Sept. 15 will require payment according to the pro-rated fees outlined in Board Policy: JBC Enrollment. -
Emergency Medical form*
All students are required to have this form on record at the school. It must be notarized and have medical information that can be used in case of an illness or injury during a school activity that may require professional medical attention. This form also includes the option of "no treatment" should an emergency occur. - Release of Student
Directory Information*
All students must have a completed form on record with the district. The form must only be completed once, unless a parent or guardian wishes to change the status of his or her student. Once the form is in the student's file, any status changes must be submitted in writing within ten days of the start of school. - Birth certificate:This must be a certified copy, and it must be presented to the school within 30 days to be in compliance.
- Divorce decree:If the student’s parents are divorced, a copy of the section that states who has custody and who has residential custody must be presented. If this documentation is not presented, the district must assume that both parents have equal parental rights.
- Guardianship:If the student is not living with the parent who has legal custody, then guardianship papers must be submitted and notarized before any further enrollment takes place. This will need to be resubmitted each year.
- Grade card or check out sheet: A grade card from the previous school is helpful at the enrollment time so that we can determine what classes to put the student in. If enrolling in the middle of the year, a check out sheet from the previous school must be presented to show that the student has properly checked out of the previous school and what their check out grades were at the time of leaving.
- Immunization record: This must be on record at the school before a student is allowed to attend.
