Here are some tools and resources for college and career planning to jumpstart your junior year in high school.

Announcements & Newsletters

Kansas Career Pipeline- Check out this awesome Career & Education planning website! Our school access code is 13140.  Students, create an account using your school internet id's & passwords.  Batch code information is available in the Career Center.

 


Special Events for Juniors

The PSAT/NMSQT test will be given at EHS for College Bound Sophomores/Juniors on Wed. October 15 at 8:00AM.  This is a pre-SAT test and junior scores my qualify them for the National Merit Scholarship Competition.  Black students my also enter the 2010 National Achievement Scholarship program when they take the PSAT.  Sigh up is in the Career Center.  Cost is $13, payable to EHS.  

Junior Days at KU: Once again KU will host a series of visit days this spring for high school juniors only. These days are jam packed, fun and informational and will give students and their families an overall introduction to KU and college life. The first Junior Day is February 18 and they will continue through the month of April and Early May. See website for dates and to register online.

If you are interested in American Legion Boy's State  or Sunflower Girl's State, please see Mr. Walrod in the Career Center for more information and to indicate interest.

Scheduling Campus Visits-  Also, you can take virtual tours on many University websites.

Many colleges host Junior Day events specifically for juniors.  These will be listed as they become available.  

NCAA Clearinghouse- All prospective student-athletes intending to enroll in an NCAA Division I or II institution must apply here.

NAIA Freshmen eligibility guidelines- prospective student athletes should see this site.

College Reps coming to EHS- Juniors are encouraged to sign up to visit with college representatives during the spring semester.  (Fall visits are reserved for Seniors) To see representatives who are scheduled, go to Your senior year

Scholarships-  Juniors, it's not too early to start looking at scholarship information. Get an early start by familiarizing yourself with the latest info. and websites. Go to Your senior year and click scholarship information.

Samsung American Legion Scholarship- If you participate in either an American Legion Boys State or Auxiliary Girls State Program & meet direct veteran descendent requirements, you may be eligible. Boys and Girls State Info will be announced second semester.

Junior Enrollment Form will be completed in the spring of a student's sophomore year.
