North Central KS Technical College (NCKTC) Events
- Senior Questionnaire Counseling staff will meet with each senior individually at least once each semester. Information you provide in this questionnaire will be used to guide you in your post-graduation plans
- Senior/Parent Letter with Deadlines for the year
- Senior Timeline--First Semester Seniors, let's get your final year of high school off to a good start! Take a look at this timeline and make sure you're taking care of business.
- Transcript Request Form. Current EHS students can complete this form if you need your EHS transcript sent to a college or training program. EHS Alumni should use the Transcript Request Form in Alumni tools
- College Day Request Form. Each senior is allowed 2 college visit days. The specifics of requesting and taking a college day are outlined in the EHS student handbook. College Days must be approved at least 48 hours before a college day is to be taken.
- All seniors planning to attend college in the fall should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) after Jan. 1 of their senior year in high school. Most colleges require this form to be completed even if you don't intend to accept financial aid.
- Senior Enrollment Form. This enrollment form will be completed in the spring semester of a student's junior year.
- College comparison tool. Use this tool to evaluate the pros and cons of the colleges and universities you are considering.
Scholarship Information: Each year, many dollars are given to students in the form of scholarships. Some of these scholarships are given directly through universities, many of which have deadlines as early as November 1st. Check the university's Web site to find out early scholarship deadlines for universities you are interested in. Also, each spring during the month of March, students can complete the EHS Local Scholarship Application to compete for local scholarships. This scholarship application is due to the Cardinal Career Center by May 1st, and the recipients will be notified at the Senior Awards Ceremony.
SCHOLARSHIPS
U.S, Bank Scholarship Program. Forty lucky HS seniors/college undergraduates will win a $1,000 U.S. Bank scholarship. Winners selected at random. Online apps are accepted October 2011-March 2012.
KFC Colonel's Scholars Program. For high school seniors with financial need and en entrepreneurial spirit. awards are up to $20,000 for tuition, fees, textbooks, room and board. GPA of 2.75 min., enroll in public college in state of residence, pursue a bachelor's degree. Online apps accepted December 1-February 8.

--Best Teen Chef Competition--Information, rules, schools, ect. online. Enter online by February 3, 2012.
--Storytellers Photography Competition--Information, rules, schools, ect. online. Enter online by March 2, 2012.
Kansas Vocational Education Scholarship Program!! To provide financial assistance to full-time students who enroll in designated one or two-year technical education programs. Stop by the Career Center for information and application procedures which include registering for one of two vocational scholarship test dates. March 3 (Feb. 3). Information also available online.
Butler Community College Humanities/Fine Arts audition/interview dates. February 4 or March 2. Portfolio competition for scholarships in the visual arts is held only on March 2. Information and contacts are in the Career Center.
Hy-Vee Foundation Scholarship Program. Current employment with Hy-Vee requirements. Stop by the Career Center for info/app or visit online. Deadline is February 10, 2012

Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors (KCAED) Scholarship. For students with an interest in a post-secondary education in Heavy Equipment and/or Diesel Engine Repair. Info Packet and Application in the Career Center. Deadline is March 1.

Sunflower Grant Program at JCCC. Qualifications for eligibility: 1-Must be a first generation student, 2-Must be entering as a first-time college student, 3-Must demonstrate financial need at JCCC based on FAFSA, and 4-Must be a U.S. Citizen or other acceptable designation. Application Info in the Career Center. Deadline is April 1.
Kansas Masonic Foundation, Inc. Student Loan Program and Cynthia Ruth Russell Memorial Grants.
--The Grant is for physically challenged (handicapped) students who plan to attend a KS post-secondary institution in 2012-13. Details in the Career Center and Grant applications are due April 2, 2012.
--The Student Loan program. Detailed brochures available in the Career Center and Deadline to apply is also April 2, 2012.
Douglas County Farm Bureau Scholarship. Must be a Douglas County Farm Bureau member or dependent of same. Scholarships will be to a KS college/university, junior college, or vocational/technical school only. Preference given to those with an interest in agriculture. Application in the Career Center. Deadline is May 1.
Washburn University Leadership Institute. Receive up to $8,000 total in scholarship rewards and earn a Leadership Studies Minor or Certificate. Info and Application online.
Midwest Student Exchange Program. An easy way to save money on out-of state tuition costs. Reduced Tuition Rates. Information online and in the Career Center.
Students interested in Heavy Equipment and Vehicles! Mr. Walrod has information about the Think BIG CAT Dealer Prep Program. Become a Caterpillar Diesel Technician. This program is a partnership between Foley Equipment Company and Oklahoma State University-Institute of Technology. Associates Degree, Training, and Scholarships with free tools and paid internships. Stop by the Career Center for info or visit online.
K-State Engineering!! Have an interest in major in Engineering at KSU? Go to their Web site right away to check out dates, events, and scholarships that may be for you!! A list is also available in the Career Center.
The National CO-OP Scholarship Program. (8) NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities. Information.list of schools and requirements, and app online. 170-$6,000 renewable scholarships totaling $4,200,000!
Coffeyville Community College-KS Enhancement Scholarship. Housing, meals, tuition and books=costs less than $1,500 a semester! Scholarship for students who complete the application process and sign with a CCC activity group (Agriculture, Art, Athletic Training, Broadcasting, Cheer, Choral Music, Dance, Horticulture, Instrumental Music, Livestock Judging, Meats Judging, Native American Leadership, Quiz Bowl, Rodeo, and Theatre). Application available in the Career Center. Presidential Scholarships available too for 28 ACT or higher (full scholarship!) Space is limited!

DeVry University's High School Scholarship. 2.7 GPA or be in the top 50% of class. $1,000 per academic semester, valued up to $9,000. See Mr. Walrod for contact info.
Barton Community College-Cougar Sports Medicine-Student Athletic Trainer Position Awards for Tuition and Books. Go online and to check out the program and fill out the "Student Athletic Trainer Questionnaire." They will send further info to you.
The Athletic Training program at Coffeyville Community College is looking for students who have an interest in sports and/or medicine (nursing, pre-med, EMT, Physical Therapy, etc.). They have several scholarships to offer students-books, tuition, room and board, for around $1,500 a semester. Stop by the Career for more information or visit the web site.

National furnishes this booklet, containing over two billion dollars in scholarships and educational information, to schools and libraries for the benefit of assisting any student who needs help furthering their education. The book is updated annually and contains hundreds of scholarships, grants, and occupational opportunities available to high school seniors and college level freshmen or sophomores. Kansas State University Women's Rowing Team is interested in offering Division I scholarship opportunities. If you are interested, please fill out an online profile. No experience is necessary to earn a first-year scholarship! Height is an advantage in this sport, if you are 5'10 or taller, you will be given preference!
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln J.D. Edwards Honors Program nominations being accepted. Typical students nominated possess these characteristics: a composite ACT score of 30 or higher, class rank of 95% or better, proven leadership skills and initiative, interest in business and technology. Cappex Scholarships- In all, 26 scholarships in 14 categories will be awarded. There are scholarships for students headed to the top 10 most popular majors. Our "GPA Isn't Everything" scholarship places an emphasis on activities over grades. Cappex is also giving away airline vouchers so students can visit potential schools with our College Tour Travel Scholarships. There is even a Hardship Scholarship for a student that didn't let adversity interfere with success. To see informational poster, click here.
