Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008
District leaders announced that Megan Whitebread and Bonnie Daigh will serve as the district's representatives in the Kansas State Department of Education 2009 Kansas Teacher of the Year program. Whitebread teaches fourth and fifth grades at Eudora West Elementary, and Daigh teaches math at Eudora High School.
"Bonnie and Megan are outstanding examples of the top educators we have in Eudora Schools," said Marty Kobza, superintendent of schools. "They are talented educators and hard workers who have humbly committed a major portion of their careers to helping and connecting with the students of Eudora."
Daigh has taught at Eudora High School since 1985. Whitebread began in Eudora in 1996 teaching sixth grade. She later moved to fourth grade and now loops with classes between fourth and fifth grade. Both play a vital role in their school's efforts for both professional development and school improvement.
"We have amazing teachers all across our district," Kobza added. "Thanks to their expertise, professionalism and undying commitment to students, Megan and Bonnie will represent their outstanding colleagues very well in the state leadership process."
