EHS students win state SkillsUSA scholarships

Friday, March 28, 2008

Two Eudora High School students were awarded scholarships from the SkillsUSA Kansas board of directors. EHS seniors Dustin True and Ashley Ingwerson were the two winners for the state, each receiving a $300 award. Both are enrolled in the culinary arts program, through the Eudora - De Soto Technical Education Center.

Each year, SkillsUSA Kansas’ Board of Directors select two high school students from the entire pool of every high school SkillsUSA member in Kansas. This includes all subject areas represented by SkillsUSA.

"It is a great honor for the students to receive these awards," said culinary arts instructor Jason Gray. "It is a true reflection of the kind of skill and dedication that Dustin and Ashley demonstrate on a daily basis. And to have both state winners from our program is very exciting."
