Three students earn state slots at Baldwin forensics tourney
Tuesday, April 8, 2008
Eudora High School will be represented with two more entries in the state speech championships in May, thanks to some top finishes at the Baldwin Forensics Tournament on April 7. The team of junior Rebecca Dreifuss and senior Mai Nguyen took first place in improvised duet acting, and sophomore Katie Donner secured a spot with a third place finish in prose interpretation.
All EHS forensics team members who participated in the Baldwin tournament made it to the finals and were awarded medals.
Dreifuss, Nguyen and Donner will join the other EHS students who already have qualified. Earlier in the season, EHS junior Kyle Swanson and freshman Hawley Montgomery qualified to attend state in the improvised duet acting category. Dreifuss also has qualified to compete in the humorous solo competition.
