EHS students selected for National Honors Society

Tuesday, April 15, 2008

The Eudora High School chapter of the National Honor Society will add 23 new members at an induction ceremony on April 28.

To be eligible for membership consideration, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 through at least three semesters of high school. After qualifying for membership, potential members must meet high standards in the three areas of leadership, service and character. These criteria are evaluated in an application that includes a description of their participation in community and school activities and organizations.

A faculty council of four teachers, appointed by the principal, makes the final determination in the selection of new members, based on the three required areas.

Seniors students selected for NHS this year are Brittne Carey, Kelsie Riser, Amanda Schneider, Jim Thoennes and Loryn Walrod. Juniors are Chase Brecheisen, Cody Carlson, Devan Crowe, Haley Epperson, Elizabeth Hoese, Maresa Hornbaker, Courtney Johnson, Bryan Kindle, Haley Sellers and Kyle Swanson. Hornbaker's membership will be transferred from Stafford (Kansas) High School to the Eudora chapter.

Sophomores selected are Lindsey Cook, Madison Dennis, Kelsee Evans, Shea Lounsbury, Abigail Mott, Alexandria Mott, Katherine Slavin and Kyle Snow.
