Choirs earn honors at regional, state festivals

Eudora High School's combined women and mixed choirs earned straight superior (I) ratings from all three judges at the Kansas large group festival, which took place on April 16 at Rock Creek.
"This was a great festival for us," said director of choirs Angela Yarnell. "It is the seventh consecutive superior rating for the ladies, and the second consecutive superior for the mixed ensemble on just their second trip. Our ladies even received one perfect score, a first for us."
Choir members also represented Eudora at the April 12 regional solo and ensemble festival in Baldwin when Cantorei, a Belle Chanson ensemble, Kim Scherman, Morgyn Carey and Josh Blaisdell, each received superior (I) ratings, qualifying them for the state festival on April 26 at Andover High School. Men's Ensemble, a Belle Chanson ensemble, Katie Donner, and Julie Slavin each received excellent ratings, and Ande Kearns, Miriah Florence and Jamie Johnson received good ratings.
