Teacher of the Month: John Woodward
Friday, April 25, 2008
Congratulations to John Woodward, Eudora Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Month for April! Mr. Woodward teaches kindergarten at Nottingham Elementary School.
"The most rewarding thing about my career," he said, "is observing the students grow and change from kindergarten until they graduate."
Mr. Woodward has spent 24 of his 31-year career teaching in Eudora. He will retire at the end of this year. During his time in the district, he has been a coach, volunteered in PTO and EHS booster club, has served on numerous school and curriculum committees and has worked on the summer grounds crew.
Mr. Woodward and wife Julie have two adult daughters, Meta and Jill. He has one granddaughter, four-year-old Haley, and is looking forward to the arrival of a grandson soon.
