Wednesday, May 7, 2008
Trustees of the Eudora Schools Foundation gathered on May 6 for the organization's annual meeting. Marion Johnson, Theresa Abel, Lisa Manley and Jason Hoover will serve as officers for the coming year, and Johnny Stewart was elected as the group's newest trustee.
"I am excited for what these new officers and new volunteers will contribute to the growth of our group," said outgoing president Pennie Von Achen.
Johnson will serve as president, Abel as vice president and Manley as secretary. Hoover will continue as treasurer, a role he had occupied since the group's inception in 2006. The Foundation is an independent 501(c)3 charitable organization, governed by a volunteer board of trustees. The group works to support Eudora Schools by securing private funding for a variety of projects that will create opportunities for teachers and students.
During the meeting, Hoover also provided details about the Foundation's annual charitable golf tournament, scheduled for June 2. The tournament is held at Eagle Bend in Lawrence; a registration form may be downloaded here.
