Cross country teams train at camp
Friday, June 6, 2008
Nearly 40 students participated in the summer cross country camps for the Eudora Middle School and Eudora High School teams. The EHS camp ran May 27-30 with 22 campers, and a total of 15 campers joined the EMS team during camp on June 2-4.
The EMS team is new and will compete for the first time this fall, led by coach Chris Lounsbury, a reading teacher at Eudora West Elementary School. Lounsbury is a seasoned runner, having completed many road races and a marathon.
The cross country programs also will be sponsoring the annual Horsethief Run on July 12. Proceeds from the race, which features a five-kilometer run and a one-mile fun run, support the student runners' training and travel expenses during the year. A registration form is available for download in the eFriday Folder.
