Homecoming candidates, activities announced
Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008
Eudora High School students chose the candidates for homecoming king and queen during voting on Wednesday. The candidates will be introduced at the community pep rally next week.
Candidates for homecoming king are Zach Bryant, Max Campbell, Bryan Kindle and Zane Pittman. Homecoming queen candidates are Kendal Abel, Bre Miller, Rachel Pyle and Mariah Webb.
Homecoming week is Sept. 15-19 and will include a parade and community pep rally on Sept. 17. The parade route was modified this year to work around the construction projects currently underway on Main Street in downtown Eudora. Instead, the parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. at 9th and Elm, in front of the Eudora Public Library. The route will go one block east to Locust and then south to 10th Street. It will follow 10th to Elm and then Elm south all the way to Laws Field. The pep rally will immediately follow the parade and is scheduled to conclude by 7 p.m.
A second round of voting next week will formally select the homecoming king and queen. The winning candidates will be announced during half time of the varsity football game against Ottawa on Sept. 19.
