Severe weather postpones football game

The Eudora varsity football game against De Soto, originally scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight, was postponed, due to severe weather in the area. The game has been rescheduled and will be played at 7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, at Laws Field in Eudora.
"The safety of our players, students and fans, was the number one factor in making the decision to call off the game," said EHS activities director Dave Durkin. "The weather that came through this afternoon, along with the continued severe weather threat throughout the evening, were too great of a risk to this safety."
A recorded phone message was sent to all district families and staff, notifying them of the cancellation. Families should have received a call or a message at their home number. Updates or changes to numbers in the calling system should be directed to school offices during regular office hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
