Teacher of the Month: Kim Lancaster
Friday, Oct. 10, 2008
Congratulations to Kim Lancaster, Eudora Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Month for October! Mrs. Lancaster teaches Spanish at Eudora High School. Of her 21 years of teaching, she has taught for 17 years in Eudora.
"The most rewarding thing about teaching is interacting each day with the students," she said. "I love seeing the progress students make from Spanish I to Spanish IV."
Her professional aspirations include doing more study abroad activities and working with students on the college level who are considering a career as a foreign language teacher.
Mrs. Lancaster serves on the district's insurance committee. She also is a panel member for Spanish textbook companies with other area teachers and represents Interact Travel for teachers in the area wanting to take students to Spanish-speaking countries.
She and husband Lyle have two children, nine-year-old Logan and 13-year-old Mackenzie. She is the daughter of Don and Joy Fischer of Sabetha, Kan.
