Teacher of the Month: Scott Keltner
Friday, Feb. 12, 2010
Congratulations to Scott Keltner, Eudora Chamber of Commerce Teacher of the Month for February! Keltner teaches mathematics at Eudora High School. He has taught for seven years, all in Eudora.
"Beyond the 'a-ha!' moment," Keltner said, "I enjoy the 'what if?' moment, when a student's curiosity in a topic drives them to ask rich questions about how it is visible and important to them."
His professional goals include "continuing to advocate for student access to technology and provide students with an interactive approach to math."
In addition to his regular teaching duties, Keltner serves on the district's technology committee and teaches dual credit math classes through Johnson County Community College.
Keltner and his wife Jody have two daughters, Abby, 4, and Hanna, 2. He is the son of Mike and Barb Keltner of Medicine Lodge, Kan.
