Next EHS principal selected

G.A. Buie will serve as the next principal of Eudora High School, as approved by the Eudora Board of Education during the March 11 meeting. Buie was selected after an extensive search process, which included formal feedback opportunities for EHS staff members, parents, district administrators, board members and EHS students.
He will replace current EHS principal Dale Sample, who is retiring at the end of this year.
Buie is currently principal at Wheatridge Middle School in the Gardner-Edgerton School District. Previously, he was principal at Anderson County High School in Garnett. In 2005, he was honored by the National Association of Secondary Principals to represent Kansas as the Kansas MetLife High School Principal of the Year. He currently serves on the board for the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
"Mr. Buie is a great fit for our district," said Superintendent of Schools Don Grosdidier. "He was looking for an opportunity to return to the high school environment in a smaller community like ours, and I am excited to have him join our team."
Feedback sessions were held with stakeholder groups in January, and the selection process began with more than 60 applicants in early February. Guided by the feedback, the interview team narrowed the pool, interviewed finalists and made the final selection.
"This process was very challenging," Grosdidier said. "We worked hard to find the person to lead our outstanding high school next year. It's gratifying to know that our high school attracted such outstanding candidates, several of whom could have served as the next principal. The selection process we followed was not easy. But I am confident now that Mr. Buie will bring a great set of skills and experience to our district and our entire community."
