Special night planned for beginning band students
Friday, Aug. 27, 2010
The Eudora Schools band program will be hosting the annual Instrument Night from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Eudora Elementary School. All fifth grade students interested in starting band should attend this event. The Instrument Night is also available for any currently enrolled sixth, seventh or eighth grade beginning band student.
During the event, each student will be allowed to try out each of the beginning band instruments to find their perfect match. High school and middle school band members will also be present to help identify the best instrument for each student.
Meyer Music, located in Overland Park, will be supplying all of the instruments available for purchase, rent or lease. All required supplies, such as the method book and cleaning kits, will be made available. While some students may have previously used instruments from family members or neighbors, all families are encouraged to attend in order to get the required materials. Families that are unable to afford an instrument or have any question should contact director of bands Mac Knight, at 542-4980 or malachiknight@eudoraschools.org
All interested fifth Grade students should also plan on attending a short informational meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 31 at 7:30 a.m. in Kristen Knightâs music room at EES.
