Tech department working to address phone system errors

The district's technology department is working to resolve a sporadic phone system problem that causes some callers to hear a "circuit busy" message when calling a school district phone number. While the school district phone system does have adequate lines to accommodate all incoming and outgoing calls, this problem is most likely to occur during periods of high call volumes, such as when school starts in the morning or lets out in the afternoon.
Callers who receive the error message are advised to stay on the line; often the call will actually connect after the error message plays. If not, callers should simply hang up and redial the call for a connection.
"Fixing this problem is our top priority," said technology director Ron Long. "It may take a few days, since we have to disable the entire phone system to work on the circuitry, but we will continue to dedicate our resources to this until it is fixed."
