Success & achievement
The Eudora School District enjoys remarkable success both inside and outside of the classroom. From academics to extra-curricular activities, our students and teachers prove themselves to be among the very best.
In 2007, Eudora Public Schools was awarded the standard of excellence on nine categories of the Kansas state assessment tests, including three building-level awards. This outstanding achievement was accomplished by students and teachers in grades 5, 6, 8, 10 and 11, and reflects success in the subject areas of reading and math. To read more, click here.
Teachers are committed to excellence in the classroom and in their own professional development. Director of Choirs Angela Yarnell was named 2007 Kansas Choral Directors Association young director of the year. In January 2007, second grade teacher Courtney Heigele was the district's first-ever recipient of the Sunflower Bank Award. In 2005, two district teachers were recognized as leaders in the field. Jason Gray, state culinary arts teacher of the year, and Jim Lynch was named national teacher of the year among graphic communications instructors.
Students in extracurricular activities and sports also have received recognition in the state of Kansas and beyond. Here is just a small sample of the extracurricular excellence from 2006-2007:
