Mrs. Kennedy

Welcome to my teacher page.  I am excited to be teaching Reading this year in our ELA block. Mrs. Lucas will be teaching the writing portion of the ELA block. This will ensure that each student has ample time learning and perfecting the skills in each major area of ELA. This is my 6th year as a 7th grade teacher, and I am so excited to be teaching a subject that I love.  Before the transition to middle school, I taught 10 years at the elementary school in 5th and 3rd grades.  

I grew up in Ellis, Kansas...a very small midwestern town right off of I-70 next to Hays.  I feel very privileged to have grown up in such a small, caring community, and Eudora has that same small hometown feel.  I have three children who all grew up in Eudora.  My two sons are currently serving in the United States Marine Corps. My daughter is starting her third year of college at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, where she plays softball and is learning to become a teacher.  I am happily married and enjoy reading, writing, making my own jewelry, and spending time with family.  My door is open at all times, so feel free to visit our classroom anytime.
