Procedures for Requesting a Substitute

  • Morgan Hunter, a staffing agency based in Overland Park, manages the substitute teacher staffing program for Eudora Schools. Here is the process our district teachers should now follow for requesting a substitute:

     

    Advance notice absence: Before 4 p.m. on the day before you will be absent
    Complete the Leave Request Form and turn it in to your building's head secretary.

     

    Last-minute absence: After 4 p.m. on the day before you will be absent
    Follow these basic steps to request a full-day OR partial-day sub for a last-minute absence.

     

     By phone  Online
    1. Call 1-800-942-3767.
    2. Enter your ID number followed by the pound (#) key.
    3. Enter your PIN number followed by the pound (#) key.
    4. Follow the automated prompts.

    1. Click here to log on to Aesop and request your substitute.
    2. Enter your ID and PIN numbers in the appropriate boxes at the top right of the page.

     

     

    Helpful Hints

    • Call MHED directly (1-866-923-6433) if:
      • your absence is within 1 hour of your school start time
      • you need to cancel an absence within 12 hours of start time
    • If you make a request after 6:30 a.m. on the day of your absence, also contact your school secretary so that your class can be covered, if needed, prior to the substitute teacher's arrival.
    • Our partners at MHED recommend setting up a preferred list in Aesop so that your absences are offered to those substitute teachers first.
    • If you do not wish to request a specific substitute or do not have a preferred list, your absence will still be filled by another qualified substitute.
