Peanut and Nut-Free Food at School
We have an increasing number of students enrolled in Eudora Schools who have food-related allergies to products containing peanuts and/or tree nuts. When severe, these allergies can cause a potentially dangerous, even life-threatening situation for our students. Many of our classrooms are nut free, as a result.
For this reason, we have compiled a list of snacks and foods that can safely be enjoyed at school. Snacks on this list are known to be safe, but labels and ingredients are constantly changing. We ask that you always check the labels and look for manufacturer disclaimers on their products, such as “made in a facility that processes peanuts and tree nuts” or “may contain trace amounts of nuts.”
Please avoid snacks that contain peanuts, peanut flour, peanut oil or peanut butter, or other nuts. Please also avoid snacks with tree nuts, which include cashews, pecans, walnuts, almonds, brazil nuts, chestnuts, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pine nuts, and pistachios.
The following brands are usually very well labeled if they contain allergens: Kellogg’s, Keebler, General Mills, Betty Crocker, and Quaker Oats.
Example: CONTAINS PEANUT AND EGG INGREDIENTS
If you have any questions about nut allergies in your child's classroom, please contact your child's teacher or the health office in your child's school. Thank you for your cooperation and partnership to keep everyone safe and healthy at school!

National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
National School Lunch Program
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost, or free lunches for students each school day. For more information please visit: Child Nutrition Program.
Beginning on July 1, 2022, the federal government is no longer offering free meals to all students as a COVID relief option. As a result, the Federal Free and Reduced Meal program has been reinstated.
IN ORDER TO RECEIVE FREE OR REDUCED MEAL PRICING, as well as free or reduced Instructional fees, the Federal Free and Reduced Application must first be completed.

This 2024-2025 school year, all students will have the opportunity to enjoy a nutritious breakfast at no cost, thanks to the Eudora Schools free breakfast program aimed at supporting student well-being and academic success. We believe that a full stomach leads to a fuller mind, and we’re excited to see the positive impact this program will have on our school community.
