Special Services

Special services for students with exceptionalities are provided through a strong partnership between the Eudora School District and the East Central Kansas Cooperative in Education (ECKCE). Together, we are committed to delivering high-quality special education and related services for eligible students from age 3 through age 21.

Our mission is to ensure every individual with an exceptionality and eligible for special education services receives the individualized support they need to access learning opportunities, build on their strengths, and thrive in school. Services are determined by each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) team and are tailored to meet their unique needs. The programs and supports listed below are examples of special services available, but do not represent a comprehensive list. Depending on individual needs, services may include:
 

  • Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) – Early intervention services for young children with exceptionalities to build a strong foundation for future learning.
  • Related Services – Supports such as speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and social work services for students who need additional help to access the curriculum.
  • Special Education Resource Services – Targeted instruction and supports that foster academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth while promoting access to the general curriculum.
  • RISE (Reaching Independence through Special Education) Program – Focused on promoting independence and inclusion for students with intellectual exceptionalities.
  • WEBS Program – Intensive behavioral supports that help students build coping strategies, regulate emotions, make healthy choices, and develop self-management skills.


Through these programs and services, Eudora Schools and ECKCE work together to create supportive, inclusive environments where students with exceptionalities can grow, achieve, and succeed.
