Ms. Andrea King

I'm so excited to be a part of the Eudora Early Childhood team! I grew up in a small town in Ks(Hillsboro) and really wanted to teach in a smaller town again. I love the sense of community a smaller town has to offer. I graduated from K-State University in 2011 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education.(Go Wildcats) While I was a student, I worked at the K-State Child Development Center as an assistant teacher in a toddler classroom. That was a very fun and educational time for me. I love the sense of wonder preK students have, and watching them grow and learn everyday. I then went to St. Mary's Kansas to teach 3rd grade for four years while I was doing online classes through FHSU to earn my masters degree in special education. When I completed my degree, I wanted to teach preschool sped so I went back to Manhattan to teach preK. I really enjoyed that time, but my life took me in a different direction. I then moved to Lawrence and taught 3rd-5th grade special education for USD 497. I love teaching and helping students grow and learn, but I wanted to get back to those sweet preschool students. I'm thrilled to be a teacher for Eudora Schools and to be a part of the Eudora community. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about the community, school district, students, and parents. 

In my free time, I enjoy playing sports and cuddling one of my four pets. I play on a softball and kickball team which is a fun way for me to keep active. I also foster dogs from the Lawrence Humane Society. A country girl at heart, I love doing anything outdoors which includes fishing, kayaking, hiking, camping, riding bicycles, and walking my dogs. I also love going to K-State football games. 

What ignites my passion for teaching is watching students make academic progress and creating lessons that make students excited about learning.
