Enrollment
Student enrollment at Eudora Schools has two distinct options: new and current students. Whether your student is new or current, we are delighted for your family to be a part of the Eudora Cardinals Family! Please choose from the below options that best fit your student's status. If you have any questions regarding the enrollment process, please contact the main number at the learning center your student will attend.
- A new student is someone who has NEVER attended classes at Eudora Schools (this includes in district and out of district/nonresident families) or who once attended classes at Eudora Schools but transferred out and is now choosing to return.
- A current student is someone who attended classes in the previous year, did not transfer out, and is planning to attend classes in the upcoming school year.

How do I opt my student's information out of being shared? (FERPA)
According to the US Department of Education, The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education.
FERPA gives parents/families certain rights with respect to their student's education records. These rights transfer to the student when they reach the age of 18 or attends a school beyond the high school level. Students to whom the rights have transferred are "eligible students."
Generally, schools must have written permission from the parent or eligible student in order to release any information from a student's education record. However, FERPA allows schools to disclose those records, without consent, to the following parties or under the following conditions:
- School officials with legitimate educational interest;
- Other schools to which a student is transferring;
- Specified officials for audit or evaluation purposes;
- Appropriate parties in connection with financial aid to a student;
- Organizations conducting certain studies for or on behalf of the school;
- Accrediting organizations;
- To comply with a judicial order or lawfully issued subpoena;
- Appropriate officials in cases of health and safety emergencies;
- Military recruiters; and
- State and local authorities, within a juvenile justice system, pursuant to specific State law.
Schools may disclose, without consent, "directory" information such as a student's name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth, honors and awards, and dates of attendance. If you would like to opt your student's information out you will need to:

Process
Policy
-
Kansas law requires the board to allow nonresident students to enroll in and attend the schools of the district if the board’s capacity determination finds there are open seats for such students. In order to determine the district’s capacity to accept nonresident students at each grade level in each district school, the board has adopted this policy. Details concerning the open enrollment and continued enrollment processes for nonresident students may be found in this policy, while general processes on enrollment documentation, assignment to buildings and classes, etc., may be found in board policy JBC.
