We want to take this opportunity to update you regarding a recent development regarding changes made by Lawrence-Douglas County Public Heath regarding requirements for returning to work and schools from isolation.
Today, Thursday, January 20, 2022, Eudora Schools were notified that schools are now exempt from the Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health order requiring a negative PCR or antigen test in order to return to school after five (5) days. This change goes into effect today, Thursday, January 20, 2022.
What does this mean for families?
Continue to monitor for symptoms and notify others if your student tests positive.
If symptomatic, or not feeling well, please keep your student home.
If your student tests positive, they are to isolate until fever-free without fever-reducing medications and symptom-free.
Those who are isolating may return to school or work, after five (5) days, if fever-free and symptom-free. No COVID-19 test is required to return to work or school after day five (5).
Those returning to school after day five (5) must wear a mask through day ten (10), including when participating in sports and activities.
Those wishing to isolate for ten (10) days may return to school or work without a test if they are fever-free without fever-reducing medication and are symptom-free.
The LDCPH Mask Order remains in effect through February 9, 2022. Thank you for your continued understanding surrounding the many changes as of late. As you know, we are in a rapidly changing environment. Please know we are committed to sharing information as soon as possible to allow you time to process and plan.
