A/B Groups and Arrival Procedures

Dear Early Childhood and Elementary Parents and Guardians,

COHORT GROUPS

Knowing which group your students will be in is one of the biggest factors parents are needing to have established.  Here are the parameters we will be working from as a district.  The indicators are based on the student’s last name.

  1. Group A will be A - J
  2. Group B will be K - Z
  3. Blended Families: Base the cohort determination off of the last name of the oldest student in the family/household.

ARRIVAL PROCEDURE

Bus Riders

  • All students will have their temperatures checked before getting on the bus.  Students must have their masks on before getting on the bus.
  • Students will exit their bus starting at 7:35.  Students will need to have their mask on before entering the building.
  • Students will enter our building in the back, in the same location we have previously used.
  • Students who are in the Savannah (2nd grade) or in the Aquatic (5th grade as well as Chesnut, Murphy, and Letellier from 4th grade) will go through the cafeteria to get to their pod and classroom.  Students in the Arctic (K), Desert (1st grade), and Rainforest (3rd and Decker and Wilcox from 4th) will go straight down the hall to their pod and classroom.
  • Students who will be eating breakfast at school will be provided a sack breakfast to be taken to their classroom to eat.
  • Once in the correct pod, students will go straight into their classrooms.  Those eating breakfast will do this in the classroom.

Car Riders

  • Students who arrive at EES as a car rider will be dropped off at the exterior pod door for their grade/class.  For example, a second grade student will be dropped off by the exterior door for the 2nd grade, which is the Savannah.  These specific drop offs will be indicated around the perimeter of the building by grade level rather than pod name.  We ask that parents remain in their vehicle.
  • The drop off procedure for car riders will start at 7:40.  Students will need to have their mask on before entering the building.
  • Before entering the building, each student will have their temperature taken by a staff member.
  • Once in the building, students will be asked if they are having a school breakfast.  Those students will be provided a sack breakfast that will be taken into their classrooms.
  • Students will go straight to their classroom.  Those eating breakfast will do this in the classroom.

Walkers

  • Students who walk to school will enter the building in the back, in the same location we have previously used.  Students will need to have their masks on before entering the building.
  • Before entering the building, students will have their temperatures checked.
